According to a 2008 consumer survey sponsored by the United Soy Board, 85% of America understand the benefits of soy food, yet still opt out of buying. Why not America? Why is it that we always prefer junk food, or better tasting food to that of what’s actually good for us? The bottom line is, America is obese, and not to my surprise, it’s our own fault. All these lawsuits against McDonalds and such are just completely bogus. This proves how Americans just don’t like to take responsibility for their own problems.
Did you know eating a soy veggie dog instead of a beef hotdog will save you 70 calories, more that 5 grams of saturated fat, and 25 mg of cholesterol? This is only one example of how soy food benefits you and your health. Eating soy has numerous benefits, and let’s be honest: it doesn’t really taste THAT different. The biggest problem is that people stick their nose up at new things, most particularly: healthy things. Soy has a whole range of food and beverages. I’m not saying you have to completely replace beef with soy, but at least somewhat putting it into your diet can greatly improve your overall health. Soy protein is the only plant protein that is equivalent to animal protein, but it has way more benefits. So why not?
